Robert William "Bud" Kohrs

January 21, 1932 — February 23, 2026

Robert William “Bud” Kohrs, born January 21, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on February 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved son of William August Kohrs and Lolita Katherine (Nolle) Kohrs, who instilled in him the values of kindness, resilience, and devotion that shaped his life.

Bud grew up during the challenges of World War II, experiences that nurtured his deep sense of duty and gratitude. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He loved to share stories from those years—tales of camaraderie, adventure, and the moments that defined his young adulthood. Among his favorites were the stories of how he met the woman who would become the love of his life and his partner in everything.

Family was at the center of everything Bud did. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great‑grandfather who showed his love through presence, loyalty, and quiet strength. He was always there—steady, dependable, and ready with a story, a smile, or a helping hand.

Bud is survived by his children:

- Steven John Kohrs and his wife Michele

- Karen Elizabeth DeSalvo and her husband William

- Roberta (Sam) Ann Carlson and her husband Craig

- Mary Gay Kolb and her husband Michael

- Scott Andrew Kohrs and his wife Christine

He is also survived by his brothers:

- Richard Kohrs and his wife Charlotte

- Harold Kohrs and his wife Sandy

He was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 19 great‑grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom brought him immense joy. The values he lived by—love, service, humility, and strength of character—continue on through them and their families.

Bud was preceded in death by the love of his life, Joan Roberta Kohrs (Thompson); his parents, William August Kohrs and Lolita Katherine (Nolle) Kohrs; his brothers Lloyd and Wayne; his sister Jane; and his twin sister Elizabeth Kohrs.

Those who knew Bud will remember his gentle spirit, his humor, and the way he made people feel seen and valued. His stories connected generations, and his presence brought warmth and steadiness to every room. His absence will be felt profoundly, but his memory will remain a blessing and a guiding light.
