Rita Ann Nieters

Rita Ann Nieters (née Mohrman), age 92, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025. Born on April 26, 1933, Rita was a lifelong resident of the St. Louis area. Though deeply rooted in her hometown, she had a love of travel that inspired countless family camping adventures across the United States—memories that her loved ones continue to cherish.

Rita was a woman of passion and spirit. She will be remembered for her unwavering determination, deep faith, and competitive nature, particularly as an enthusiastic bowler over many years. A talented seamstress, Rita created clothing for her family and sewed costumes for performances at St. Louis University High School. She also had a deep appreciation for gardening and the natural world, a love she passed on her children.

Rita is survived by her beloved children: Debi Zamora (Charlie), Don Nieters (Mary), Doug Nieters (Bill Lagaret), Diana Papa (Frank), and Dori Pollard (Craig). Rita also leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Matthew (Kristen), Nick (Brittany), Ferrara (Clinton), Karen (Matt), Andy (Emily), Frankie (Colleen), Tony, Jon (Jaime), Nicole (Scott), and Erik (Tashia), as well as her great-grandchildren: Ellie, Ryan, Evelyn, Arya, Lincoln, Emma, Allison, Elijah, Landon, Hadley, Trevor, Conner, Aidan, AJ, Luna, Nora, Clara, Theo, and Beatrix. Rita’s Family is also grateful for the kindness of extended family and friends especially Michelle Smith, Mary McKee, Brenda McClure, Bryce McClure, and Mark Mertens.

Rita’s vibrant spirit will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life to honor Rita will be planned for a future date.
