Faerber, Rita Ann (nee: Brommelhorst), of O’Fallon, Missouri, died on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at the age of 61. Loving wife of the late Charles “Chuck” Faerber; beloved daughter of the late Vernon and Verna Brommelhorst, devoted mother of step-children Scott (Tracy) Faerber, and Debbie Neske; cherished grandmother of four; and dear sister of Mark (Barb) Brommelhorst, Dale (Dee Dee) Brommelhorst, and Jane (Dale) Obermoeller. She is preceded in death by her nephew, Gabriel Brommelhorst. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rita graduated from Hazelwood East High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. She graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1977 and later received a Master’s Degree in Music. She was awarded Outstanding Teacher of the Year from 1981 – 1982. She received countless awards and achievements during her teaching career and was loved by both her students and the faculty in the Ferguson Florissant School District. Rita was also an accomplished pianist and organist.
The family would like to thank Optum Hospice for their gracious compassion they showed Rita during her final days. Also, a special thank you to Gardenview Care Center in O’Fallon for their love and care of Rita. She always felt at home at Gardenview with all the wonderful people.
