Richard (Rich) Lee Graham, 78, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, at home in St. Charles, Missouri.
Rich was born August 4, 1946, to parents Paul and Ruth, and was raised alongside his brother Don in Ferguson, Missouri. After graduating from The University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, with a degree in commercial art, he served in the United States Army. Prior to reporting to his post in Anchorage, Alaska, he married Susan Paproth on September 7, 1968. They spent two happy years in Alaska before settling in St. Charles, Missouri.
Rich spent his career working as an art director. He and Sue raised two children together, Doug and Meghan.
Rich was a man of many talents who could fix just about anything and enjoyed drawing and painting, woodworking, photography, tending to his yard and flowers, barbecuing in the backyard, and just being outside. He also enjoyed trips to visit his daughter and son-in-law in Kansas City, Missouri, and his son’s family in Cincinnati, Ohio, especially spending time with his three adoring granddaughters.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ruth Graham. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan, his son Doug (Gina), daughter Meghan Swon (Brian), granddaughters Claire, Paige, and Sophie Graham, and brother Donald (Donna) Graham.
His spirit will live on through his family: Doug, who is always quick with a joke, Meghan, who shares his love of animals, Claire, who inherited her grandpa’s eye for small details and his artistic talent, Paige, who carries on her grandpa’s love of being outside in nature, and Sophie, who, like Rich, is a little bit stubborn and quirky herself. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Rich's memory to Phoenix Home Care and Hospice or Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary
