Richard Dee Schooley, of St. Peters, MO, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Beatriz “Betty” Schooley; devoted father of the late Richard David "Ricky" Schooley; cherished son of the late Claude and Ona Schooley; dear brother of the late Clarence (Dean) Schooley, Kenneth (Evelyn) Schooley, the late Maxine (Jim) Dutch, the late Deloris (George) Dyhouse, and the late Aliene (Richard) Priefer; precious uncle and friend.
Richard was a devoted husband, sharing 61 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, and looking forward to their 62nd anniversary this September. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories, enjoying dancing, camping, and traveling. Richard proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, where he worked as a military policeman at Fort Buchanan in Puerto Rico. Following his service, he built a dedicated career as an accountant, spending 25 years with McDonnell Douglas after earlier work with Hussmann Refrigeration Company. After retiring, he continued to stay active in his community as a school bus driver, a role he truly enjoyed—especially the time he spent with the children. He was a deeply kind and warm-hearted man with a great sense of humor. Richard loved his family dearly and remained very close to them throughout his life. He also had a special place in his heart for his puppies, who brought him much joy. A man of strong faith, Richard was a devoted Christian who was actively involved with Calvary Church for many years. He loved the Lord with all his heart, and his faith guided the way he lived and cared for others. Richard also had a passion for sports. He enjoyed watching baseball and dedicated his time to coaching youth basketball and baseball, making a lasting impact on many young lives. He loved to have a good time and brought happiness to those around him. Richard was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Richard's name to Calvary Church- Mid Rivers or the Humane Society.
