Richard "Dick" A. Champagne

Richard “Dick” A. Champagne, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Barbara C. Champagne; cherished son of the late Charles and Vaniola Champagne; devoted father of Richard A. (Susan Blesener) Champagne, Jr., Gregory S. (Cheri) Champagne, Mitchell P. (Christine) Champagne, Mark C. (Angela) Champagne, Brannon N. (Karla) Champagne, and Christin (James) Prather; loving grandfather of eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; dear brother of the late Hughins C. Campagne, the late Charles P. Champagne, the late Kermit J. Champagne, and the late Marion Babin. Dick is also proceeded in death by his daughter in law, Stacy Champagne.

Dick dedicated his career to the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, and later retired from Cardinal Ritter through the Catholic Archdiocese after a career in education. A devout Catholic and member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, he built his life around family and faith. Dick was a lifelong learner who enjoyed reading, working on house projects, shooting for sport, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and supporting his beloved LSU Tigers. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Dick was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
