Raymond Philip Allrich

Dr. Raymond Philip Allrich of Austin, Texas, and formerly St. Charles, Mo.,  passed away on January 18, 2018 after battling cancer and Parkinson’s. Gratefully, he passed away peacefully in his home, with family at his side. He was 64. Ray was born on September 18, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri. Ray was a loving father and grandfather, who enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and close friends. He devoted his career to nursing and mental health education since 1988 until he retired. He received his PhD in Education from the University of Texas in 2002 and taught as Associate Professor of Nursing at Austin Community College. He was a highly respected faculty member and teacher to hundreds of nursing students. For multiple years, he was voted to be their graduation speaker. Ray’s humor, kindness, and unconditional love will always be remembered. He has touched the lives of countless people through his legacy of education, mentorship, and joy for life. Ray is survived by three brothers (Paul, Ted, and Joe), daughter, Keris (Stuart), grandson, Aston, and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. He joins his brother, Carl, in heaven. Memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on February 3, 2018 at Austin State Hospital, All Faiths Chapel (4110 Guadalupe, Austin, Texas).
