Ramsey August Lammers III passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, September 20, at the age of 82. He was proceeded in death by his loving parents Ramsey A. Lammers, Jr. and Dorothy M. Lammers (Keyes). Ramsey will be greatly missed by his brothers, Michael R. Lammers (Cheryl) and Jeffrey A. Lammers (Constance). He was treasured by his nephew and nieces, Christopher, Amy, Melissa, and Ashley; and his great nephews Colin, Mason, Christian, Karsten, Evan and great niece Emma.
Ramsey was a lifelong resident of St. Charles. Following his graduation from St. Charles High School, he attended Missouri School of Science and Technology (formally Rolla School of Mines). Graduating with a degree in chemistry, he began a long career with McDonnell Douglas and later retired from Boeing.
Fishing, especially family fishing trips to Canada, was one of his favorite pastimes. Everyone would look forward to the fish fries that would follow those trips. From an early age, Ramsey had an interest in nature, notably butterflies and moths. His final weeks were spent enjoying the butterflies and hummingbirds that were frequent visitors to the flowers on his patio.
Ramsey had a special spot in his heart for dogs. No dog, be it his own or family dogs, was ever forgotten with treats and toys. Ramsey was notorious for sneaking bites of food under the table to an eager pup. The dogs quickly learned that their place at the table was under Ramsey’s feet.
Most of all Ramsey loved his family and his family loved him. He will be remembered for his intelligence, sense of humor, quick wit, and generosity of spirit.
