Phyllis A. Brickles

Phyllis Anita Brickles (née Koerner), of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in Columbus, Ohio to Albert and Callie Koerner, she had one sister, the late Janice (the late Mark) Beggs. In 1957, Phyllis graduated from Ohio State with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She married Myrle Brickles on May 17, 1957, sharing 62 beautiful years of marriage. Together, she and Myrle had five children, Kaye (Ron) Eversoll, Janet (Wayne) Walker, Earl (Teresa) Brickles, Ginny (the late Doug) Staats, and Linda (Paul) Sharp. She loved her grandchildren, Missy (Mike), Tim (Meghan), Chloe, Richard (Lindsey), Lindsey (Andrew), Sarah, Joy, Justin (Reanna), and Skye (Joe) dearly; as well as her beloved great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jack, Charlie, Theo, Hailey, Olivia, Liam, Maverick, and Bo. She is also survived by two dear nieces, Vikki Beggs and Alexi Beggs. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Myrle D. Brickles, Jr.; her parents and her sister, Janice Beggs.

Phyllis was a woman of deep faith and served actively in her church communities throughout her life. She loved singing in church choirs, was a proud member of the Precious Memories Gospel Singers, and had a heart for missions. An avid reader, she found joy spending hours in a favorite chair with a good book. Phyllis enjoyed painting and coloring, especially floral scenes, and practicing the art of calligraphy. Always warm and kind, Phyllis greeted everyone with open arms and was quick to offer help wherever it was needed. She had a playful spirit and made each of her children feel uniquely special. Phyllis was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
