Phyllis Jean Baker

Phyllis Jean Baker (nee Sims), of Columbia, MO, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026, at the age of 83. Cherished daughter of the late Ethel Sims; devoted mother of Daniel A (Lisa) Rees and Darla (Gustavo) Branda; loving grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 7; dear sister of Ed (Terry) Lipe and Alan (Kathy) Lipe.

Phyllis had a deep love for warmth and travel, especially enjoying time spent cruising. She found joy in music and cherished attending her grandchildren’s extracurricular activities, always bringing her fun-loving and lively spirit. A proud member of Beta Sigma Phi, Phyllis also enjoyed fishing, dining out, and trying new foods. She loved going to the movies and snorkeling, embracing life with enthusiasm and adventure. Phyllis was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Phyllis's name to Compassus Living Foundation and Humane Society of Missouri.
