Philip Ellis Burlingame

Philip Ellis Burlingame passed away at home on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the age of 83. Mr. Burlingame enjoyed tinkering in the garage and could repair anything mechanical. He was diligent and meticulous in all that he did and was always ready to teach or lend a helping hand. A man of conviction, Mr. Burlingame was passionate about missions and spreading the gospel. He was also a man of many trades who worked selling real estate, designing cabinetry, repairing aircraft and motorcycles, furthering missionary efforts, and finally, before retirement, serving in security for Dow Chemical in Pevely. He was an avid amateur radio operator (His registered call sign was N0NTL) and a member of the Jefferson County Amateur Radio Club. Philp proudly and honorably served in the United Sates Marine Corps as a jet engine mechanic.

Born January 4, 1943, in Vinita, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Glenna Mae (Ellis) and Wendell Elwyn Burlingame. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lanelle (Hines) Burlingame and brother, Timothy (Kathy survives) Burlingame. He is survived by two children: Jami (David) Dalton and Adam (Kristy) Burlingame; five grandchildren: Luke Dalton, Aaron Dalton, Samuel Dalton, Ellis Burlingame, and Grant Burlingame; two siblings: Susan (Rod) Blair and Michael (Janie) Burlingame; and his faithful pup, Mickey.

A graveside service was held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on September 30, 2026.
