Pfc. Michael Robert Patton, age 19, of Fenton, Missouri died Saturday, June 14, 2008 while supporting combat operations in Bakwa in the Farah Province, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. Pfc. Michael Robert Patton entered into service of his country on in 2007 as a member of the United States Marine Corp and went through boot camp in San Diego, California. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, California. One thing in life he knew for sure was that Amy was the love of his life and he wanted her to be his wife before going to war. Michael asked Amy to marry him during boot leave and they married during leave.. He returned to St. Louis and was able to spend time with his new wife and family members before his pre deployment training began. Amy was with Michael in Twentynine Palms and was able to wish him well during the deployment ceremony held for the Marines leaving stateside to fight for our freedom in Operation Enduring Freedom. Michael was raised in Fenton, Missouri and graduated from St. Paul Catholic Grade School and was a 2007 graduate from Fox High School in Arnold, Missouri. Military Honors were given to Pfc. Michael Robert Patton when his plane arrived home on June 19, 2008. His wife, along with her many family members and friends. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at St. Paul Catholic Church and he was laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Michael is survived by his parents James and Teresa Patton of Fenton, Missouri. A One Year Anniversary Service will be celebrated on Sunday, June 14, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63125.
