Paul W. Viehmann

October 5, 1940 — May 25, 2023

Saint Charles, Missouri

Paul W. Viehmann, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of over 55 years to the late Joanne Viehmann; devoted son of the late Leona and Edward W. Viehmann; loving father of Amy (Darrell) Harrelson and the late Kevin Viehmann; cherished grandfather of Mark Viehmann, Melesa (Matthew) Limpert, Tyler Harrelson, Emily Harrelson, and Erin Harrelson; dear brother of Edward (Jan) Viehmann, Richard (Janet) Viehmann, and Russell (Virginia) Viehmann. Paul is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paul was a very hardworking man who had many talents. As a Co-Owner of St. Charles Sand Company with his brothers, Paul ran the facility off Highway 40 and performed as a machinist for many years.

Despite his busy schedule, Paul never forgot to take time out to appreciate his hobbies. He had a passion for model trains, painting and detailing them since he was young. He loved the real-life imagery and idealization of the trains and the model buildings, with The Pennsylvania Railroad being his favorite. He also dedicated many years of his life as an active member of St. Charles Model Railroad Club where he shared his skills with other enthusiasts. He also shared his passion through a Hobby Shop that he opened with his dear friends, Scott and Dennis. Paul’s other passion was history, especially World War II, which reflected in his well-versed knowledge and fascination with the many books that he read.

A devout Christian, Paul established his faith with his family. He was a communion server in his younger years at Immanuel UCC of Ferguson and faithfully attended church services at Delmar Gardens. Paul will always be remembered as someone who established himself as a mentor to all those around him through his hard work, dedication, and his gentle spirit.

Paul will be remembered as a true gentleman who believed more in actions than words. He loved animals deeply and always had his beloved dogs by his side. Paul was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Paul's name to Five Acres Animal Shelter.
