Patricia J. Sandfort departed this world into the loving arms of Jesus on July 30, 2025 in Dallas, Texas. “Patti” was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 30, 1944, to June and Ernst Petzold. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 60 years, Maurice “Moe” Sandfort of St. Charles, Missouri.
Patti met Moe in December of 1962 during her freshman year at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. They were married at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Charles, on August 3, 1963. They resided in St. Charles for many years until Moe’s career in banking took them to other parts of the state including Columbia, Cape Girardeau and West Plains. In every place they lived, they relished in and enjoyed the fellowship of many wonderful friends and colleagues. In the fall of 2021 the couple came full circle, returning to St. Charles, to be back near family and friends in the community where they began. Following the death of her husband in November of 2023 and at the urging of her children, Patti relocated to Dallas, Texas in March to be closer to three of her six children.
A reserved and meek woman, Patti was the perfect match to her approachable and gregarious husband. She was a dutiful, loving and loyal wife; and, she found her greatest accomplishment in life was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived and loved dearly by her six children and their spouses Jennifer & David Scott of Pensacola, Florida, Jill & D. Neil Leeson of Dallas, Texas, Rebecca (Koch) & Stephen Sandfort of Azle, Texas, Julie & John Clark of Dallas, Texas, Lynn & Robbie Crites of West Plains, Missouri and Jessica (Smith) & Jason Sandfort of St. Charles, Missouri; beloved grandchildren Kari & Brandon Scott, Ashley & Nathan Crossland, Alyssa & Grant Dominguez, Marie & Peyton Leeson, Madyson & Ian Leeson, Rachel & Joel Hardy, John Sandfort, Aubrey & Joe Sandfort, Charlotte Clark, Cameron Clark, Bo Crites, Coy Crites, Mac Crites, Henry Sandfort, Jacob Sandfort, Philip Sandfort and James Sandfort; great-grandchildren Harper and Scottie Crossland, Elijah, Naomi and Anna Hardy; sister Shirley Petzold, brother Ernie Petzold and wife, Linda, nephew Bradley Petzold, sister-in-law Joanne (Sandfort) Bader as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins on the Sandfort side.
