Patricia Ann Jackson was born on October 22, 1954, in New Madrid, Missouri, to the late Martha Taylor and Edward Clinkscale. Patricia grew up in New Madrid surrounded by family, faith, and community. She attended Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized by the late Reverend C. H. Bell.
Patricia departed this life unexpectedly on January 21, 2026, in St. Peters, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother; her brothers, Tommie Taylor Jr. and Alvin Jackson; and her grandson, Jaron Brown. Their memories remained an important part of Patricia’s life, and she carried their love with her always.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memory three daughters whom she adored deeply: Pat Jackson, Paula Brown (Walter), and Tonya Sims. She is also survived by her father, Edward; five grandchildren—Tierra Lillard, Brandon Brown, Brittany Lillard, Caylin McClellan, and Peyton Jackson-Sims—each of whom brought her great pride and joy; and three great-grandchildren—Ezekiel Brown, Micah Brown, and Noah Brown—who added new light to her life.
Patricia’s family circle is large and filled with love. She is survived by her sisters Linda Jackson, Sheila (Willie) Alexander, Barbara Williamson, Verlene Hampton-Harris, Sharon Clinkscale, Gail Davis, Karen Jackson-Vaughn, Cynthia Anderson, and Jackie Davis; and by her brothers Donald Jackson, Rickie (Darlene) Taylor, Dareck Taylor, Ezra Syas, Edward Clinkscale Jr., Byron Clinkscale, and Jonathan Clinkscale. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Patricia made history as the first African American cheerleader in the New Madrid school district, a role that reflected her spirit, determination, and confidence. She was also the first in her family to attend college, a milestone she achieved with pride, she had a deep love for cooking, classic movies, music, The History Channel, Jeopardy, and especially, Walker, Texas Ranger. It was widely known in the family that she had watched every episode at least five times. These simple pleasures brought her so much joy and comfort.
Above all else, Patricia treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren. She celebrated every achievement, big or small, and was her family’s biggest cheerleader—always encouraging, and always proud.
Patricia was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, strength, and motivation will live on in every life she touched.
Memorials may be made in Patricia's name to Meals on Wheels Nationwide or any soup kitchen, continuing her desire to support anyone in need of a meal.
