Patricia Marie Harton (LeBlond), 87, of O'Fallon, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025. Born on October 18, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, Patricia's life was one of service, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Patricia began her nursing career in the United States Army, where she served with dedication and grace. It was overseas during her service that she met her beloved husband, William Harton. They married in Switzerland, and Patricia and William were stationed in Korea and various locations throughout Europe before returning to the States, where she continued her calling to heal and care for others. After William died in 1981, Patricia channeled her strength and love into her work and family.
Patricia's nursing career culminated in the NICU, where she tenderly cared for the tiniest and most vulnerable babies—a reflection of her gentle spirit and life-giving heart. Even in retirement, Patricia continued to serve. While living in Atlanta, she delivered meals to seniors through Meals on Wheels, offering a helping hand and warm smile to those in need. When Alzheimer's made it impossible for her to live independently, she moved to Missouri to be near family. But her servant's heart never left her—even as the disease progressed and took her memory, she continued trying to help and serve others until she could no longer walk.
A devout Catholic, Patricia's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved like Jesus loved—with kindness beyond measure, compassion, and grace. She found joy in the simple pleasures: classical music filling her home, puzzles that challenged her mind, and sweets that brought a smile to her face. Above all, she loved children, and her five grandchildren were the light of her life.
Patricia faced Alzheimer's disease with the same quiet strength and dignity that marked her entire life, battling the disease for seven years before finding peace.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, William Harton; her parents, Honorious LeBlond, Sr. and Agnes LeBlond (O’Rourke); and her brother, Honorious (Whitey) LeBlond, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Heather Nienaber (Samuel); her brother, Richard LeBlond; and her five cherished grandchildren: William, Samuel, Alexander, Audrey, and Eleanor, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in O'Fallon, Missouri, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will be held at the church following the service. Patricia will be laid to rest with her dear William at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., in the coming months, honoring their service to their country.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund in Patricia's memory.
Patricia's light, her smile, and her boundless love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a survivor, a servant, and a saint among us.
