Oreon Hilgert

Hilgert, Oreon Granville, of St. Charles, Missouri, entered into the Church Triumphant on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the age of 84. Loving husband of Helen Florence Hilgert (nee Luebbert); beloved son of the late Lewis Francis and Frieda Christine (nee Keune) Hilgert; devoted father of David William (the late Linda) Hilgert, Donald Oreon (Karen M.) Hilgert, Karen Lynne (William J.) McKenna and Shirley (Rich) Hausladen; cherished grandfather of Julie (Jason) Skillman, John (Alexis) Hilgert, Sarah (Henry) Pflugradt, Paul (Becky) Hilgert, Matthew Hilgert, Mark Hilgert, Anna Hilgert, Amy (Chris) Fritz, Steven Hilgert, Shari Hilgert, Katie Lynne McKenna, Willy J. McKenna IV, Laura Hausladen, Eric Hausladen and Andrew Hausladen; treasured great-grandfather of Alex Skillman, Nathan Skillman, Ryan Barnes, Aarron Hilgert, Tyler Hilgert, Lily Pflugradt, Eva Pflugradt, Gabriel Hilgert, Kateri Hilgert and Garrin Fritz. He is preceded in death by his brother, Raymond L. Hilgert. Oreon was a Personnel Supervisor for the US Postal Service for 40 years. He was a lifelong Lutheran and held many church offices, most recently he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bridgeton. Oreon enjoyed woodworking, gardening and traveling to Disney theme parks with his family. Memorials may be made to St. Louis University Cancer Center.
