Norman E. Primeau

June 16, 1927 — January 1, 2013

Norman E. Primeau passed into the next world on January 1, 2013. He was born in St. Charles, MO on June 16, 1927 to the late Anthony S. (Fire Chief St. Charles Fire Dept.) and Myrtle Callison Primeau. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He and Virginia Faye Kinder were joined in marriage on Sept. 4, 1948. To this union were born three children: Lucinda (Cindy) Kielty (Ken) of St. Charles, Steven T. Primeau (Sharon) of Montgomery, TX and Dennis K. Primeau of O'Fallon. He was the loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition he is survived by three sisters: Doris Bernat (John), Winifred Koenig (Norbert), and Margie Scholle (Carl) all of St. Charles. He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia and his grandson Sean K. Kielty. In 1986, he retired from McDonnell Douglas as a Senior Quality Engineer. After retirement, he and Virginia traveled the world, spent many years taking great pleasure in their beloved family retreat in rural Troy, MO and enjoyed the love and lives of their children and grandchildren. In late life he put his hand to wood working and left his family many special gifts of furniture made with so much love and pleasure. A life long resident of St. Charles and descendant of many of the early founding families. He was the 5th great-grandson of Daniel Boone and descended from Captain James Callaway, for whom Callaway County was named, Francis Howell and Paul Primeau, a member of the Lewis and Clark expedition. He was dearly loved by all of his family and many friends and will be sorely missed. He in turn loved life and family and left us with many wonderful memories of our lives together. A special thank you to the staff at Lake St. Charles, NHC St. Charles, and Heartland Hospice for their care and support. Memorials may be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, New York 10012 (www.hdsa.org).
