Norbert Walter Schierding

Norbert Walter Schierding, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025 at the age of 88. Beloved of husband of 67 years to Carol Schierding; cherished son of the late Walter “Pete” and Odelein Schierding; devoted father of Michael (Nancy) Schierding, Anne Brady, Susan (Keith) Eilers and Mary (Joe) Detjen; loving grandfather of six; treasured great-grandfather of four; dear brother of Joseph (Rose) Schierding and the late Carol (Howard) Combs.

Norbert was proud to have been born and raised in St. Charles, surrounded by a loving extended family. A devoted member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Norbert formed many lasting friendships and found a strong sense of community through his active involvement in parish life. He worked in construction and was also a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus in St. Charles. Norbert cherished time spent at his second home at the Lake of the Ozarks, where he enjoyed hosting family and friends. He loved playing card games and found great joy in the simple pleasures of time shared with loved ones. Deeply dedicated to both his family and his community, Norbert was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Norbert's name to Duchesne High School and St. Vincent de Paul at St. Peter's.
