Nellie M Walker (nee Muro), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at the age of 85. Nellie is survived by her sister, Paz (Jack) Kendall, 33 nieces and nephews, 45 great-nieces & nephews, 1 great-great-nephew and 4 step-children, Wendy (Bob) Kampmann, Lori (Greg) Carroll, Martin (Cindy) Walker, and Kevin (Amy) Walker; she is preceded in death by her siblings, Rosario (Manuel) Romblon, Jose (Obdulia) Muro, Antonio (Eleonor) Muro, Manuel (Dolores) Muro, Aurora (Arthur) Valdez, Vincente (Rhodora) Muro and Ricardo (Josephine) Muro.

Nellie Walker was an accomplished educator, writer, and communications professional whose life reflected dedication to learning and service.

She graduated fourth in her class from Masbate High School and served as Editor-in-Chief of The Ranch. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Literature (Journalism) from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila and completed master’s units at Manuel L. Quezon University.

Nellie worked as a secretary at a Manila law firm, taught at Liceo de Masbate, Ovilla Technical College, and Santa Catalina College, and served as Public Relations Officer and assistant to the director of the National Philharmonic Society of Manila. Her articles were published in MOD, a national magazine.

She immigrated to the United States in November 1982, married Kenneth Walker in December 1982, and became a U.S. citizen in July 1986.

Nellie Walker will be remembered for her intellect, professionalism, and lasting impact on education and the arts.

Nellie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
