Nancy Leigh Miriani (nee Thomas), of Lake Saint Louis, MO, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025, at the age of 62.
Nancy was always happy and had a smile on her face no matter what. She brought warmth and light into every room she entered. Her joy was contagious, and she was often found singing or humming a tune, laughing the loudest at family gatherings, or sharing stories that captivated everyone around her. Nancy had an extraordinary gift for making people feel seen and supported—her genuine concern for others was matched only by her ability to lift spirits with her infectious laughter and heartfelt presence.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, being a central part of their lives and biggest cheerleader in all they did. Nancy found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: reading a good book, hiking through nature’s beauty, swimming, or relaxing by the pool. But above all else, she cherished time with loved ones. Whether attending events and sports activities for her children and grandchildren or enjoying lunch and dinner dates with friends, Nancy brought energy, love, and enthusiasm to every gathering.
Nancy had many dear friends, and she deeply valued those relationships. She enjoyed spending time with them playing Bunco, sharing meals, and making memories. She was absolutely adored by friends and neighbors alike; known for her kindness, selflessness, and the comfort of her companionship. Her openness and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone, fortunate enough to cross her path. She never met a stranger, only friends she hadn’t gotten to know yet.
Nancy was the beloved daughter of Leonard Thomas and Florence Thomas (Pease). She grew up in a close-knit family and remained deeply connected to her roots throughout her life. She was the cherished sister of Joan O’Neill (Thomas) (Jim O’Neill) and Lynn Thomas, and the devoted mother of Steve Lorenz (Amy Lorenz) and Tony Miriani (Alex Miriani). Her love extended to her grandchildren—Scott Lorenz, Scarlett Lorenz, and Mila Miriani—who brought her immense joy and pride. Nancy was also a treasured aunt to Jim Kezele, Michelle Messmer (Kezele), and Tommy Scott, and a great-aunt to Charlie Messmer and Henry Messmer. She was the loving niece of Frank and Mary Jane Vennari (Pease), whose presence in her life helped shape the strong family bonds she so deeply valued.
Throughout her life, Nancy embodied selflessness. Whether as a mother, grandmother, sister, or friend, she consistently put others before herself. Her ability to connect with others was one of her most remarkable qualities—people were drawn to her warmth, sincerity, and unshakable optimism. A conversation with Nancy could turn even the hardest day around, and her legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering support for those she held dear.
Nancy “Brat” Miriani leaves behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her memory will continue to inspire kindness and compassion in all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and serve as a reminder of the joy she brought into the world. Nancy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
