Mrs. Mildred Heine of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Friday, June 28, 2013 at the age of 89 years and 11 months. Mildred was born on a farm in New Haven, Indiana on July 24, 1923 to Paul and Emma Vonderau and was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She graduated from New Haven High School in New Haven, Indiana in 1941 and from the Lutheran Hospital of Nursing in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1944 as a registered nurse. Mildred was married to the late Rev. V. Paul Heine on August 25, 1944. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. V. Paul Heine, her parents, two sisters, one brother, one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law. Surviving are her two children, Dr. Jon E. Heine (Suzy) of Houston, Texas and Rebecca "Becky" (Daniel) Hoskins of Troy, Missouri; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Henrietta Vonderau of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Grandmother of 4 grandchildren Christopher (Jennifer) Palmer, Anne (Rob) Corl, Ryan Heine and Kimberly (Charles) Nettles, 2 step grandchildren (Jeff Hoskins and Jill Cremer), 7 great-grandchildren and many nephew and nieces. Mildred took an active role in church work throughout her life, devotedly supporting her husband of 60 years in his ministries in Iowa, Kentucky, Indiana and Missouri. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Charles, Missouri, where she participated in the church choir, Lydia Society, Thrivent and various other auxiliary organizations. Being an excellent cook, Mildred took great pleasure in entertaining family and friends throughout her lifetime. Her greatest joy was having her family join her for Sunday dinner. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Charles, Missouri, for either Debt Reduction or the Fine Arts Fund. Visitation is to be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, from 4:00-8:00 PM, at Baue Funeral Home, 6th and Jefferson Street, St. Charles, Missouri. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 6th and Jefferson Street, St. Charles, Missouri. Pastor Allan Schade will officiate. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, St. Charles. Christopher Palmer, Ryan Heine, Charles Nettles, Rob Corl, Marshall Vonderau and Tom Amos will serve as pallbearers.
