Michael Wayne Henry, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the age of 66. Beloved son of Delores and the late James Henry; devoted father of Jessica (Jerry) Campbell and Brandon (Jamie Kluesner) Henry; cherished grandfather of Spencer Campbell, and Lyla Campbell; dear brother of David (Katie) Henry, Constance (Patrick) Giratos, Bethany Kientzel; dear friend to and mother of his children, Jill Wilson; dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Michael was also preceded in death by his birth mother, Violet Kientzel, and sister, Jerri Keintzel.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He then served as a USPS Carrier for more than 37 years, and he enjoyed walking his route every day.
Michael loved the outdoors and nature, and fishing was his favorite pastime. He was also a Nascar enthusiast and never missed watching a race, even if he had to miss his granddaughter’s softball game. He enjoyed taking road trips, and listening to Rock ‘n Roll. He was truly a creature of habit and made sure he washed his car after every road trip. He looked forward to engulfing himself in the world of Harry Potter every fall, and also reading Louis L’ Amore books to pass the time.
Michael was a kindhearted man who was very direct and to the point, and will be lovingly known to not ever have a filter. Everything was black or white, no grays or anything in between. Michael was a man full of emotion but kept it well hidden inside himself. However, he loved spending time with his family and cherished the memories they made together.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, Mizzou Football, and the St. Louis Steamers Soccer team, and he looked forward to the times he attended his grandkids sporting events. He enjoyed working on projects with his son and taking long bike rides together. Michael was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
