Michael B. VandeVen

Michael “Mike” B. VandeVen, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Nancy VandeVen; cherished son of the late Herman and Louise VandeVen; devoted father of Terry (Gerard) Bava, Mike (Kay) VandeVen, David (Julie) VandeVen, Sheryl (Tony) Groeblinghoff, and Michelle (Doug) Meyer; loving Papa of Jessie Bava, Jake (Tammara) Bava, Nikki (Kyle) Plassmeyer, Chris (Lexi) VandeVen, Nathan (Audrey) VandeVen, Jack (Kylie Minardi) VandeVen, Ethan VandeVen, Will VandeVen, Isaac Groeblinghoff, Claire Meyer, Grace Meyer, and Maggie Meyer; treasured great-grandpapa to eight; dear brother of the late Ralph VandeVen, the late Arlo Sweeney; precious uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend.

Mike worked as a truck driver and was a proud member of Teamsters Local 600. He loved hunting, being on the family farm, cutting grass, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. He also spent time playing baseball in the Cincinnati Reds minor league organization after high school. He was a hardworking man who never met a stranger. Mike was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Mike’s name to Masses at St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
