Been, Melvin J., of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Friday, June 3, 2011 at the age of 81. Loving husband of Shirley Been NEE: Leach; beloved son of the late Lester and Mae Been; devoted father of Mark (Peggy) Been; cherished grandfather of Kim (Curtis) Scally and Rachael (Ryan) Blassie; treasured great-grandfather of Jack Scally; dear brother of Rose Zacher and Joan Been; dear uncle of Christine Zacher and Karen (David) Brandt. Melvin was a member of United Methodist Church of the Shepherd and a U.S. Marine Corp Reserve. Memorials may be made to Kidney Foundation.
