Maurice “Moe” Bacott, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the age of 98. Beloved husband of the late Beverly Bacott; cherished son of the late Maurice "Leo" L. and Ruth Bacott. Devoted father of Linda (Ben) Towler; loving grandfather of Wendy Linck, Jack (Erin) Staley, Amy (Scott) Simpson; treasured great grandfather of 11 and 7 great great grandchildren; many nieces nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by brother, Oliver (the late Harriett) Bacott; sister, Patricia (the late James Murphy).

Maurice proudly served in the United States Coast Guard and was a member of the VFW. He worked for the St. Louis Fire Department for 30 years - joined in 1952 - retired in 1982. Maurice loved woodworking and creating pieces for his family. He built a woodworking shop in his backyard and made several clocks and rocking horses. Maurice also loved to garden. He had a huge garden in his backyard and had so many vegetables, he often had to call family to come and take some. Maurice also enjoyed canning with his late wife Beverly.

Maurice was an avid reader and loved reading anything that related to the military or war. He also enjoyed suspense and mystery novels and was a crossword puzzle enthusiast. He was married to Beverly for a very long time and loved her more than anything. Maruice was a fun, kind, extremely loving man. His family looked up to him and adored him in every way. He was a loving and devoted father. Maurice was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
