Matthew Edward Baker

Matthew Edward Baker, of O Fallon, MO, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Kathryn Baker; cherished son of the late Anthony and Rosemary Baker; devoted father of Brooke (Matthew) Daley and Becky (Danny) Byrne; loving grandfather of Hannah Landolt, Brookelyn Daley, Mateo Daley, Makenzie Byrne and Kaylie Byrne; dear brother of Toni (Scott) Kasal, Laura (Kevin) Favignano, Dan (Kelly) Baker and Patrick (Karen) Baker; loving brother-in-law, cherished uncle and cousin to many.

Family was the most important thing to Matt. He was often referred to as the best “girl dad” anyone could have. Matt was the life of the party, someone who could make friends anywhere he went. He was the kind of person who never met a stranger, and he took the time to foster friendships that became lifelong bonds.

Matt had a deep passion for soccer, which he loved sharing with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, barbecuing with his family, and listening to music, especially The Beatles, his absolute favorite.

Matthew was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Matthew's name to St. Croix Hospice or Barnes Jewish Children's Hospital.
