Mary Vogt (nee McBroom), of Drexel, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Clemence “Tiny” Vogt; cherished daughter of the late Leora and Claude McBroom; devoted mother of by Raymond Arenz, Bebee (Charles) Noltkamper, Laura (Raymond) Jackson, and Anthony "Tony" (Karen) Vogt; loving grandmother of eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; dear sister of Claude "Bud" (June) McBroom, James "Tom" (Sue) McBroom, Lucille (Roger) Grau, and Rose Anne (Piet) Sundman.
Mary worked for the Orchard Farm School District as an elementary secretary for more than 20 years, where she adored working with the children. She had a kind and generous heart and enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking, embroidery, and playing board and card games. Mary also loved taking walks and spending time in nature. An avid animal lover, she rescued many animals over the years, including a cat, deer, squirrel, and dog. Her community was very important to her, and she loved her family deeply. She was truly the best grandma in the world. Mary shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Mary's name to the Dementia Society of Missouri or Masses to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (2700 E Mechanic St, Harrisonville, MO 64701).
