Mary Ellen Sommerville

Mary Ellen "Ellie" Sommerville, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024, at the age of 62. Cherished daughter of the late Elizabeth Shucart and Arthur Sommerville; devoted mother of Shannon (Santos) Gonzalez; loving grandmother of Isaac Gonzalez, Brianna Gonzalez, Caitlin Gonzalez, Abigail Gonzalez, Aiden Gonzalez, Kyla Gonzalez, and McKenna Gonzalez; treasured great grandmother of one on the way; dear sister of Michael (Mary) Sommerville, Kathleen Bruns, Eileen (Randall) Baker, the late John Sommerville, and the late Timothy Sommerville (survived by Nancy).

Mary, deeply loved by her family, found joy and pride in their company. An artistic soul, she delighted in drawing, painting, and collecting Emmett Kelly clowns. In her free time, she enjoyed watching Cardinals Baseball games and showing her support for the team. Known for her generosity, Mary was the go-to support person for anyone in need. Her intelligence and hard work made her handy and adventurous, always eager to try new things. Cherishing time with her family, she often traveled with them, took her grandkids swimming, and played Wii Sports together. Mary's warmth and kindness endeared her to everyone, and she will be greatly missed.

Memorials may be made in Mary's name to the Mental Health Association of St. Louis or the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
