Mary Schweiker

Mary Bell Schweiker (nee Steward), of Eureka, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the age of 93. Loving wife of the late Vernon Schweiker; Beloved daughter of the late Jesse and Emma Steward; devoted mother of Stephanie (Robert) Romano, Julia Romano, Marcellus Romano, and Joseph "Joe" Romano; cherished grandmother of Amy (David), Tracy, Timothy, Justin, Marlow, Samantha, Sofia, and Robert; loving great grandmother; dear sister of Frances; Aunt, cousin and friend to many; and is also survived by her previous husband, Julius Romano. Mary is preceded in death by her siblings Millard, Lee, Irvin, Frank, Harold, Cecil, Loyal and Lois.

Mary's greatest joy in life was caring for and supporting the people she loved. Family values were at the heart of everything she did, and she was always ready to lend a listening ear or helping hand to anyone in need. She loved hosting family gatherings, preparing delicious meals, and creating lasting memories with those around her. She took care of the elderly in their homes and became their friends. She did not just provide exceptional care, she provided true companionship. This care lead to her relationship with her loving husband, Vernon. Mary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
