Mary Janet (Jan) Rigdon nee Tungett died peacefully on 11/24/2023 in the comfort of her home. Janet was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 22, 1939. She attended St. Francis Xavier and St. Augustine grade schools and Bishop Hogan High School graduating in 1956. She attended the University of Missouri at Columbia from 1957 to 1959 and earned a BS in Special Education from the University of Missouri at St. Louis in December 1988. She was married to W. Bradford (Brad) Rigdon in 1961. Janet is survived by Brad and their children, Kim (and Russ Robertson), Lisa (and Chuck Sword), Juli (and Steve Belk), and Mark (and Laura) and their families - including 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Jan served on committees in several Catholic parishes with Brad including the Christian Family Movement, The World Wide Marriage Encounter, Orange Diocese and St. Louis Archdiocese Family Life Commissions, The United States Bishops Committee on Marriage and Family Life, as well as their appointments to the Pontifical Council of the Laity and to the Vatican Committee for the Family by three Popes. She spent many years in volunteer work with special needs children and in early childhood facilities. She was a member of All Saints Parish for 30 years and an active member of the All Saints RCIA team.
Visitation will be at All Saints Parish on 12/4/23 from 9:00am to 10:00am. A mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at All Saintes Parish at 10:00am with burial to follow at Ste. Philippine Catholic Cemetery.
