Mary C. Atchison

Mary C. Atchison, of Saint Peters, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the age of 71. Beloved daughter of the late Jane and Floyd Atchison; loving sister of Linda (Harry) Chandler, Evelyn (Rudy) Long, and sister-in law of Rosie Buckshot. Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Edward (Gerry) Atchison, Betty (Donald) Waters, David (Viola) Atchison, RuthAnn (Richard) Davis, Charlotte Atchison, Paul Atchison, Theresa (Terry) Holm, and Charles Atchison. She was a dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Mary is also survived by her dear friends Beth and Tina. She was also preceded in death by her friend and companion, Clyde Oakley and her dearest friend, Norma.  

Mary retired after more than 40 years as a machinist with Alco Company. In her retirement years she was able to enjoy watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball and she never missed a game. She was a very good cook, and always made the best German potato salad and chocolate chip cookies.  

For entertainment, Mary loved buying lottery tickets and playing the lottery, especially the Pick-3 Straight Box and Scratch-offs. She also attended bingo frequently and went to many quilting socials. She enjoyed watching the Game Show Network and listening to country music, especially Loretta Lynn, George Strait and Alan Jackson. In her younger years she enjoyed gardening her flowers around the house.  

Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.  She always looked forward to celebrating Christmas with her sister Linda’s family. 

Mary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Joseph Indian School.
