She dedicated her career with the St. Louis State School and Hospital for more than 25 years before retiring. She then became a volunteer at the St. Louis Fox Theatre. Mary Alice was a parishioner of St. Cletus Catholic Church after she and Carl moved to St. Charles. Before moving to St. Charles, they lived in Glasgow Village where they were parishioners of St. Pius X Catholic Church. They organized the St. Pius X Catholic Church Credit Union. She enjoyed sewing and sewed many of the vestments for the priests in her parish at St. Pius. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and proud that she attended Rosati Kain High School. It made her smile whenever she heard “Rosati Kain” even in her last weeks of life. Mary Alice loved going to the St. Louis Bread Company everyday having her toasted sesame seed bagel and coffee. Above all else, she treasured spending time with her family during holidays and especially being able to go to midnight mass on Christmas Eve. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
