Marvin “Mark” Sloan, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at the age of 94. Loving husband of the late Elizabeth J. Sloan.

Mark proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1950 to 1954, including during the Korean War. His bravery and dedication earned him five Purple Hearts, along with numerous other commendations. Following his service in the Army, Mark continued his commitment to his country by reenlisting in the United States Air Force.

After completing his military service, Mark attended school in St. Louis, where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth. The two were united in marriage for more than 60 years, sharing a lifetime of love before her passing in 2020.

In 1975, Mark made his home in St. Peters, a community he cherished and remained devoted to throughout his life. He held a deep appreciation for the city, its values, and especially the St. Peters Veterans Commission.

Mark was an avid reader who found great joy in a good book, a pastime he enjoyed throughout his life. He also loved dining out, particularly at a good steakhouse, and spending evenings at home watching classic films on “the tube.”

Mark was grateful for the compassionate care and support he received from his dedicated caregivers, including John, Lynn, and Jason. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Mark's name to the Mid America Veterans Museum.
