Marvin Hubbard

Marvin Dale Hubbard, of Chesterfield, MO, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at the age of 67 after a prolonged battle with lung cancer. Marvin was born in St. Charles, MO,  but escaped to the sea at age 17 by joining the United States Navy.  While deployed in Spain, he met and married his wife Patricia, with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage. 

 

Marvin proudly served 20 years in the Navy, traveling the world with his wife and three children, and retiring as a Senior Chief.  

 

Despite suffering a debilitating stroke in 2005, Marvin remained a force of nature, zooming around on his electric scooter with Patricia yelling at him to slow down. To the very end he was a flatterer, a joker, a problem solver and a builder.  But, mostly, he was a good man with a big heart who was and is loved dearly by his family. 

 

Beloved husband of Patricia Hubbard. Devoted father ofJohnathon Brereton-Hubbard, Emily (Stuart) Belshe, and Jessica Hubbard. Loving grandfather of Vivian Mae Belshe, Lola Jane Brereton-Hubbard, Lucas Flyn Brereton-Hubbard, Liam Sean Brereton-Hubbard, Gavin Dale Wingfield, and Logan Patrick Wingfield. Brother of Arbrey (Patty VelSolio) Hubbard, Linda Mahn, and Kenneth (Connie) Hubbard. Preceded in death by his daughter Natasha Hubbard, who never got a chance to grow up,and by his sister, Rita McArdle.
