Martha May Sweeten, a beloved resident of Silex, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on May 24, 1947, in Maryland Heights, Missouri,

Martha filled her life with joy and creativity, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

Martha was the cherished daughter of the late Elmer Turner and Peggy Chitwood. She was a devoted wife to Larry Sweeten, with whom she shared a strong and affectionate bond. Martha was also a cherished mother to Laura (Art) Miller and the late Lawrence Sweeten who carries forward her spirit of warmth and kindness. In addition, she is survived by her dear siblings, Thomas (Tammy) Turner, Barbara (the late Max) Ward, and Ann Greenslet.

Martha was a vibrant individual with a passion for various hobbies that brought her immense joy. She loved to crochet, bake, and decorate cakes, creating culinary delights that added sweetness to family gatherings. Her fondness for crafts kept her hands busy, and she approached every project with creativity and enthusiasm. A lover of travel, Martha enjoyed exploring new places and making memories with her loved ones, always finding ways to infuse fun into her adventures. Her great sense of humor and zest for life made her a delight to be around, and she cherished the time spent with family and friends.
