Martha Jean Fallon-Kaufhold, a cherished member of her community and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, in O’Fallon, Missouri. Born on November 26, 1935, in Cole Camp, Missouri, Martha led a life marked by deep generosity, boundless curiosity, and a remarkable spirit of adventure.

Martha’s life was characterized by her love for family, her passion for travel, and her commitment to service. She was an avid traveler who explored all 50 states and journeyed to over 40 countries, embracing the wonders of Europe, Peru at the age of 80, Africa, China, Russia, Australia, and New Zealand. Her enthusiasm for life extended to her hobbies and interests, which included square dancing, gardening, and a keen enjoyment of basketball—especially cheering on St. Dominic’s teams long after her children’s own playing days had ended. Known for her warm hospitality, Martha delighted in making others feel welcomed and cared for, often celebrating birthdays with special treats and always ready to offer a helping hand.

A woman of steadfast faith and community involvement, Martha was a founding member of the 50+ Club at Assumption Catholic Church and proudly served with St. Vincent DePaul. After retiring from the Fort Zumwalt School District, she volunteered her time with St. Joseph Hospice, providing compassionate care and support to those in need.

Martha’s legacy is lovingly carried forward by her children: Michael Fallon (Susan), Janice Bross (Matthew), Mark Fallon (Laurie), Jeanne Usher (Jeff), Dan Fallon (Carole Dawn); her step-daughters: Linda Schuetz (Raymond), Martha Thal (Alan), and Susan Daniel (Terry). She was a devoted grandmother to Jason Fallon (Anna), Jeremiah Fallon, Kristin Dalton (Daniel), Kenneth Bross (Kelsey Mengwasser), Rosie Bross-Rice (Robert), Keenan Bross, C.S.C., Kaitlyn Bross (Joshua Anderson), Stephen Fallon, Melissa Fallon, Benjamin Fallon (Dani Mazzeo), Adam Fallon, Natalie Fallon, Nicholas Fallon, Dan (Ashley) Usher, David Usher (Lauren), Sarah Austin (Garrett), Court Fallon, Kylie Fallon (Kaleb Schrum). Her loving care extended to great-grandchildren: Theodore Fallon, Elizabeth Fallon, Charles Fallon, Broderick Fallon, Harvey Dalton, Fiona Dalton, Sommer Dalton, and Alexander Usher.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, William James Kaufhold; her first husband, Patrick Fallon; her grandson, Dan Usher; two sisters, Dorothy Mosier and Mildred Shoemaker; and her parents, Leonard and Ida Chmelir.
