Marlin V. Broeker
July 8, 1937 — October 30, 2021
Marlin Van Broeker, of O Fallon, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Martha M. Broeker; cherished son of the late Marvin and Loula May Broeker; devoted father of Bob Broeker; loving grandfather of Jen (Kevin) Christensen, Rob (Ashlee) Broeker, and Beau (Kelly Travis) Broeker; treasured great-grandfather of Braden Christensen, Ryder Christensen, Campbell Christensen and Scarlett Christensen; dear brother of Dale (Etta Lou) Broeker; Marlin is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and his dear companion Chinook. Marlin proudly and honorably served in the United States Army and was a member of United Methodist Church in O’Fallon. In his younger years he grew up on the family farm where he enjoyed riding horses and getting into mischief. He would always tell funny stories about him and Dale getting in trouble. When he met his wife, Martha he adopted Bob her son. He loved to dance with his wife and loved the family dogs throughout the years. Whenever Marlin would get into something, he always gave a 110% effort. He owned his own excavating company for about 30 years. In his free time he loved golfing, fishing and flying planes. Marlin was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be made in Marlin's name to Humane Society of Missouri or SOAR Stray and Orphaned Animal Rescue.
