Mark Steven Schoene Sr. fell asleep in Jesus’ arms on July 29th, 2025 at the age of 70. Cherished husband of 47 years to Debbie. Dear son of the late Irvin and Geraldine Schoene. His proudest accomplishments were his children, Mark (Stacy) Schoene, Lauren (Kris) Zimmer, Michael (Linsey) Schoene, and Meredith (Kyle) Norman along with his 8 beautiful grandchildren Mackenzie, Riley, Austin, Harper, Maxwell, Oliver, Miles and Charlotte.
He will forever be remembered by his siblings, Joyce (Alan) Pohlman, Cathy (Dave) Strittmater, and Christy (Mike) Farr along with brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends and neighbors.
Mark spent his entire life in St Charles where he never knew a stranger. A member of St. Cletus Church, the St Charles Knights of Columbus, and the Raccoon Hunters Club, you could often find him throwing horse shoes, cocked hat bowling at the Corner Bar, or hanging out with his “FNC” crew on Friday nights.
His love of his hometown, his family, and his dear friends was matched only by his love for his farm, the Layz S, where he was anything but lazy! He spent countless hours building “temperature controlled” deer stands, golf courses, boat docks and, more importantly, making unforgettable memories with his children, grandchildren, relatives and friends hunting, fishing, tractor riding and hosting “Schoene Olympics”.
For the immeasurable love he provided, we hope to spread his spirit and love of family to future generations.
Services will be held on August 8th at St Cletus Catholic Church beginning with receiving hours at 9AM followed by a celebration of life at 11AM. A luncheon will follow at St Charles Knights of Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Charles County Boys and Girls Club, SSM Health Cancer Care, or Duchesne High School.
