Marjorie Ruth (Cordes-Brockman) Oney

Marge was born on November 21, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri to Flora (Cordes) and George Brockman.

She grew up in Bland, Missouri and loved spending time at the Cordes farm where her strong fondness for all animals began. She especially loved dogs and would recount days spent with her Jack Russel Terrier, Skippy. She kept a ceramic likeness of Skippy on her screened porch so they could still sit together and watch the birds. Marge knew all the pet names on her street and loved the neighbors to bring them on their visits.

Marge married Donald Oney on August 23,1958. Both worked at Wagner Electric Company for more than 18 years. They had a long fun life together that included bowling, playing cards with friends, collecting small items and flea market vending.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Oney, an infant son Randal Keith Oney and her late sweetheart Major Fred Thomas. Shortly after Don passed, Marge concentrated her time to sewing and quilt making. Over the last several years, she and high school sweetheart Major Fred Thomas (also widowed) rekindled their relationship. They spent quality time together in Owensville crafting and taking little trips to visit both of their families. She also leaves a circle of close friends and cousins who will miss her dearly.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to the Boulevard St Peters Senior Living, in particular the attending nurses and support staff for the last two years of her life and to her many local friends who brought her great joy.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local SPCA or any Veterans support groups of your choice. Memorials may be sent to First St. Charles United Methodist Church.

Baue Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 3950W Clay Street, St Charles MO 63301 will be handling arrangements. A celebration of her life will be held at the Baue Funeral Home Chapel on February 26, 2026, at 1:30 p.m..
