Marjorie “Marge” Jean Hall (nee Viehe), of Saint Louis, MO, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of first husband, the late Ronald Henson, and second husband, the late Edsel Hall; cherished daughter of the late Willard and Dorothy Viehe; devoted mother of Melinda (Steve) Cotten, and Cynthia (Michael) Arnold; loving grandmother of Catlin (Caleb) Benner, Chase (Alyssa) Cotten, Camden Cotten, Ryan (Glynis) Arnold, Megan (Dave) Althuis, Sergey Arnold, Lingli Arnold, and Tatiana Arnold; treasured great-grandmother of Gwynevere Cotten, Charlotte Arnold, Jonah Anrold, Jemma Althuis, and Silas Althuis; dear sister of Barbara (the late Donald) Hamblin, and the late Roy Viehe.
Marjorie was a gifted artist whose life was marked by creativity, kindness, faith, and a deep love for nature, animals, and family. She graduated from Manual High School in 1959 and attended Herron Art School for two years. Throughout her life, Marge created art in many forms, including oil paintings, watercolors, painted furniture, crafts, and her most unique work—painting birds on real leaves.
Marjorie married Ronald Henson on August 20, 1961, and they had two daughters. She worked as a staff artist for the Indiana Manufacturers Association and later at RCA, retiring at age 55. In 1991, she married Ed Hall, and they lived on a farm in Freedom, Indiana, raising horses and cows until his passing in 2003.
In 2016, Marjorie moved to St. Peters, Missouri, to be closer to family. She remained active in craft shows, church at First Baptist Church of St. Charles, and friendships that included watching St. Louis Cardinals games and Wii bowling. Her health declined in 2024, and she spent her final months at Dolan Memory Care Homes.
Marjorie will be remembered for her love of horror and classic movies, ice cream—especially fudgies—her devotion to animals, and the joy she found in creating art. Despite lifelong physical challenges, she always had a smile and cared deeply for others. Above all, she cherished time with her family and her faith in the Lord. Marjorie was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Marjorie's name to 5 Acres Animal Shelter and the World Bird Sanctuary.
