Marjorie Irene Doelger (nee Snyder), born February 11, 1927, passed away surrounded by the love of the family she cherished throughout her life. Marjorie grew up in a children's home in St. Louis, an experience that helped shape the strong, resilient, and caring woman she became.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George John Doelger Sr.; her son, George John Doelger Jr.; her daughter, JoAnn (Don); her parents, Minnie (Fults) Snyder and George Snyder, and her brothers John and George.
She leaves behind her loving children, Carol (Tom), Peggy (Ben), Rich (Jean), and Cathy, along with a cherished legacy of 17 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great-grandchildren.
Marjorie worked at Bettendorf and lived a life filled with family, friendship, and fun. She loved roller skating, line dancing, aerobics, Big Band music, and cheering on her beloved St. Louis Cardinals. She enjoyed camping, spending time on the water, and fishing, often proudly outfishing George.
After spending many winters in Texas, Marjorie and George decided to make it their permanent home. She treasured her friendships through the Red Hat Society, loved parties and gatherings, and generously supported Southwest Indian children's homes, a cause that was especially meaningful to her.
Above all, Marjorie loved her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being surrounded by those she loved. She will be remembered for her joyful spirit, generous heart, sense of adventure, and the countless memories she created with family and friends across five generations. Her love, laughter, and legacy will live on in all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Marjorie's name to The Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
