Marge L. (Grandma Moose) Biermann

May 4, 1936 — Aug 30, 2026

St. Peters, Missouri

Marge L. (Grandma Moose) Biermann (nee Harting), of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Vincent Biermann; cherished daughter of the late Elmer and Laura Harting; mother of Sally Halfaker; loving grandmother of Carrie (Aaron) Altman, and Emily (Joshua) Noyes, and great-grandmother of Audrey Noyes, Sabrina Noyes, and Emma Altman.

Marge shared 64 loving years of marriage with her husband, Vince. She was a member of Zion Lutheran in Harvester, Missouri. She was formerly a member of Holy Cross Lutheran in O'Fallon, and Immanuel Lutheran of St. Charles for many years, where she was in the Kitchen Band and Ladies Aide Society. Marge worked with the St. Charles Historical Society and put together many antique clothing fashion shows. She and Vince were actively involved in the preservation of Main Street in St. Charles and made many friends along the way. Marge loved writing poetry under her pen name, “Grandma Moose”, and her work was published in newspapers. She also published 3 books in her 80's. She loved writing Christian poetry to express herself and deepen her faith.

She was an avid primitive Americana antique collector- most especially from St. Charles and the surrounding area where she worked to preserve the region’s unique history. Marge always said, "It wasn't just the item she liked, so much as the story that came with the item.” Marge loved to travel with her husband and friends. They enjoyed hunting for and selling antiques on their travels. Some of their favorite travels were to places like Alaska, and Las Vegas, but she thoroughly enjoyed their road trips. In her later years, she loved playing bingo. Vince began his own auction business in the 1990s and for 29 years he and Marge worked side by side to preserve history through selling auction items. Marge made everyone feel like family and was known to many as “Grandma Moose.” Her greatest joy in her life was her grandchildren, and spending time watching her great-grandchildren and friends, “Moosie’s Pool Crew,” in the pool while she wrote poetry. Marge was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Marge's name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or 5 Acres Animal Shelter.
