Marilyn Gladys Mottin (nee Allen), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late James Mottin; cherished daughter of the late Claude Everett Allen and the late Gladys Louvinia Allen; devoted mother of Marilyn "Mickey" (Frank) LaFerla, Michael (Jenny) Powers, Mark (Nancy) Powers, and the late Melody (Jack) Lenhard; precious step-mother of Don (Brenda) Mottin, the late Steve (Barbara) Mottin, and Suzanne (Michael) Smith; loving grandmother of Robyn Canada, Jackie (Jon) Sweaney, Sal (Anna) LaFerla, Brian Powers, Aaron (Sheila) Powers, and Michael (Taylor) Powers; treasured step-grandmother of Angie, Rachel, Adam, Joel, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; dear half-sister to the late Tommy Allen.
Marilyn was a proud member of the Red Hat Ladies Society and a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR, even attending the Indy 500 with her family. She deeply loved and supported her children and grandchildren in all their interests. A graduate of Rosati-Kain High School, Class of 1946, she was married to Jim for 28 wonderful years. Marilyn enjoyed dancing, spending winters in Florida as a snowbird, and living life with warmth, joy, and kindness. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Marilyn's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
