Marie Fern Hardcastle

Marie Fern Hardcastle (nee: Lemings) of O’Fallon, formerly of Overland, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at the age of 88.  Loving wife of 64 years to the late James Hardcastle; beloved daughter of the late Henry and Eva Lemings; devoted mother of Dewayne (Sharon) Hardcastle; cherished grandmother of Kelly (Chris) Hardcastle, Kevin (Michelle) Hardcastle, and Tawnya (David) Neighbor; treasured great-grandmother of Nathan, Grace, and Hannah, Tyler, Lillian, Andrew, Abbi, Catherine and Jamie; dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.  Marie is preceded in death by her infant grandson, Caleb, and her 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Marie worked as a salesperson for many years at Gasen Drug.  She was very dedicated to her faith, and a member of Christ Centered Church in Troy, Missouri.  She loved reading her bible and preaching the word to everyone around, as she was a true “Social Butterfly.”  She enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles, watching Daystar, and quilting and knitting.  In her spare time, she also enjoyed writing beautiful poetry.  She was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
