Lula Mae Wilder

Lula Mae Wilder (nee Cooper), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the age of 78. Beloved wife of the late Edward Wilder; cherished daughter of the late Clara and Johnnie Cooper, Sr.; devoted mother of Timothy (the late Kawaski) Nash, Derrick (Chrissy) Nash, Chandra (Juffure) Clements, and the late Kennard Nash; loving grandmother of Kendrick Nash, Sean Nash, Derrick Nash, Desirae Nash, Ciara Nash, Arianna Clements, Aaliyah Clements, and the late Aaron Clements; dear sister of Johnnie R. (the late Gladys) Cooper, Henry (Helen) Cooper, Evelyn Carter, Lola (the late Howard) Coleman, Flora Cooper, Rose Cooper, Ora Lee Cooper, the late Wallace (Betty) Green, and the late Elijah Cooper.

Lula, originally from Louisiana, was a strong, loving, and God-fearing woman who cherished her family above all else. She and her beloved husband Edward shared 36 wonderful years together, enjoying trips and visits to the casino. A devout Christian, Lula instilled her faith in her children from an early age, setting high standards and leading by example. She was a true fighter, a go-getter, and a generous spirit who adored her grandchildren and took pride in being a good mother. Lula had a passion for cooking—her lemon meringue pie and spaghetti were favorites at church gatherings—and she was known for her delicious soul food. Meticulous and particular about her home, she kept everything spotless and just so. Lula was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

Memorials may be made in Lula's name to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
