Lucy Gallagher (nee Pinkley), of O Fallon, MO, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Patrick Gallagher; cherished daughter of the late William and Leona Pinkley; devoted mother of Sherry (Scott) Skillington, Dan (Becky Williams) Ulrich, Laura (Marshall) Groom, April (Troy) Reitz-Robinson and Joseph Gallagher; mother-in-law of Cindy Ulrich; loving grandmother of Amanda Skillington, Melissa Skillington, Andrew (Samantha) Skillington, Mikie (Maleena) Skillington, Abby (Ethan) Fields, Zach Ulrich, Max Ulrich, Ashley (Brett) Newton, Grant Black, Caroline Black, Clayton Black, Priscilla Black, Bradley Reitz, Jack Robinson, Colt Robinson, Jade Robinson and the late Brandon Travis; treasured great-grandmother of Noah Travis, Lily Travis, Amelia Newton, Ben Newton, Morgan Skillington and Cleo Skillington; dear sister of Lewis D. (Sue) Pinkley.
Lucy and Patrick were married for 41 years and shared a beautiful marriage. Together they enjoyed spending time with each other and working in their yard and garden. Lucy had a special gift for sewing and gardening. She poured her heart into creating beautiful quilts and tending to her flowers. She loved her children and worked to create special moments and memories with them for every occasion. Always bringing beauty and warmth to those around her. She loved all the holidays especially Christmas, which she planned all year long.
For 16 years, Lucy worked in the Fort Zumwalt School District cafeteria, where she was affectionately known as "Lucy the Lunch Lady." The students adored her. Her presence in the cafeteria was more than just about serving meals; she created a welcoming and caring environment for all the children she encountered
A devoted family woman, she was always there for her loved ones, offering support, wisdom, and a little bit of her famous spunk. Known for her strong personality and competitive spirit, Lucy brought joy and energy to every gathering.
Lucy was a remarkable woman with a big heart and a zest for life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and warmth will live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
