LoReta Maurine Davis

LoReta Maurine Davis (nee Traner), of St. Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the age of 89. Loving wife of the late Richard Davis; cherished daughter of the late Elmer and Hetty Traner; loving aunt of Larry (Charlotte) Traner, Lisa (Keith) Gunnett, Karen (Gary) Gurley, David Traner, Bryan (Tricia) Davis, the late Joseph (Suzanne survives) Traner, the late Mark Traner, and great aunt to many; dear sister of the late Warren (Peggy Ann) Traner and the late Thomas Traner. A cousin and friend to many. Reta also shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Duffy.

Reta worked for many years as an executive secretary at McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a natural problem-solver who took initiative, never hesitating to step in and get things done. Reta was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she valued friendships and fellowship.

In her free time, Reta enjoyed playing dominoes with her family and looked forward to lively games of Bunco with her friends. She cherished time spent at the family lake house and was a talented seamstress. A baker and gracious hostess, Reta enjoyed baking cookies and opening her home to family and friends during the holidays. She also enjoyed collecting special treasures, reading books, and continually learning new things, earning her pilot’s license. Reta's kindness and unwavering love for her family touched countless lives. She will be dearly loved and greatly missed by all who knew her.
