Loraine M. Blase

Loraine M. Blase (nee Algermissen), of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at the age of 90. Loving wife of 69 years to the late Raymond R. Blase; beloved daughter of the late Loraine and Othmar Algermissen; devoted mother of Stephen (Connie) Blase; cherished grandmother of Meghan (Charles) Flynn, Brandon (Lacey) Blase, Allison (Jearmy) McCubbins, and Ethan (Elizabeth) Blase; treasured great-grandmother of Henry Flynn, Andrew Flynn, Nora Blase, Parker Blase, Beau Blase, James McCubbins, Clara McCubbins, Waylon Blase, and June Blase; dear sister of the late Dorothy (Clem) Schneider, the late Rose (Norbert) Sattler, and the late Bloss (Edward) Runge.  

Loraine had a fulfilling career in Human Resources at McDonnell Douglas and retired after 35 years with the company. After retirement she enjoyed many relaxing years with her husband. They enjoyed boating on the river and at the Lake of the Ozarks, as well as traveling with friends through Europe. She loved to socialize and entertain family and friends. Loraine hosted festive gatherings during the holidays, and she was renowned for her signature "Grandma Pepper Cheese."  

As a woman of great faith, Loraine was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She volunteered many years with Birthright of St. Charles and was also a former officer. She was devoted to her community and taking care of others.  

Loraine was a dedicated and nurturing mother. As a devoted grandmother, she took immense pleasure in attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She loved seeing all the pictures of her great grandchildren and visiting with them as well. Her joyful presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Memorials may be made in Loraine's name to Breast Cancer Research Foundation or Birthright of St. Charles.
