Linda Jean Mallinckrodt

Linda Jean Mallinckrodt (nee Backowski), of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the age of 72. Loving wife of the late Dean T. Mallinckrodt; beloved daughter of the late Robert and Jean Backowski; devoted mother of Elizabeth Kincaid, Nicholas (Natasha) Kincaid, Christine (David) Sadler, and Mike (Mindy) Mallinckrodt; cherished grandmother of Brandon (Jenna) Mallinckrodt, Sara Mallinckrodt, Carter Kincaid, Emily Sadler, Joshua Mallinckrodt, James Sadler, and Deakin Kincaid; dear sister of Brenda Angeli, Cindy Swafford, Doug Backowski, Jeff Backowski; and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Linda is also preceded in death by her brother, Greg Backowski and sister, Lisa Williams.

Linda worked as a nurse and spent her life caring for others with kindness and compassion. She loved bar bingo and attending concerts. Linda was skilled in many types of crafts and regularly participated in craft vendor fairs. Linda enjoyed antiquing and searching for hidden treasures at garage sales, a pastime she loved sharing with her husband, Dean, and later with her grandchildren. Music was a big part of her life and brought her great joy. Linda was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
